Cardiff Airport is Wales' largest and busiest airport serving over 1.3 million people in 2016 from across Wales and South West England. Having gone through a huge transformation recently, Cardiff Airport now boasts a wide range of infrastructural and technological improvements to ensure a smooth and relaxing time at the airport.
Facilities
Since its redevelopment, facilities at Cardiff Airport have been greatly improved. The airport now boasts foreign currency outlets, an executive lounge, large car parks, meeting rooms and a tourist information desk. Cardiff Airport has ePassport gates which allow passengers holding an ePassport, containing a chip, to scan their passport at the ePassport gates for a smoother passport control process.
Cardiff Airport's multi-faith rooms provide holidaymakers of all backgrounds with a safe and comfortable space to prepare for their flight. The multi-faith rooms are located within the check-in hall opposite the Special Assistance Desk.
There are three food outlets to choose from. Caffeé Ritazza offers travellers great coffee and freshly made Italian treats. Caffi Cwtch offers a guaranteed warm Welsh welcome and provides teas, coffees and soft drinks along with a wide range of snacks, Caffi Cwtch also has a take-out service where you can grab a bite to eat on the go. Baby food facilities are also available here. Finally, why not start your holiday with a hearty meal at The Beer House? This fun and relaxing environment provides travellers with music, drink and tasty food whilst overlooking incoming planes at the terminal.
Executive Lounge
Why not enjoy a relaxing and stylish departure and make the most of Cardiff Airport by booking yourself into its Executive Lounge. Complete with Wi-Fi, beers, wines and spirits, tea, coffee and soft drinks as well as private wash-rooms and business facilities you’re sure to be completely relaxed before boarding. Groups of six passengers or more must obtain prior authorisation to book. Special assistance facilities are also available here. The lounge is open from 5am to 9pm every day, except Saturdays between November and April when the lounge closes at 5pm. The lounge is closed on Christmas Day.
Getting there
By Road: Cardiff Airport is easily accessible from the M4 Motorway from both east and westbound directions. The airport is close to Rhoose in the Vale of Glamorgan, west of Cardiff and 13 miles from junction 33 on the M4. Exit junction 33 on the M4 and follow the signs to Cardiff Airport along the A4232, A4050 and A4226. Access to the drop off / pick up area, short stay and long stay 2 car park is via both the eastern approach, Port Road and western approach, roundabout with A4226 and B4265. Access to long stay 1 car park is via the eastern approach, Port Road only. You can also use the postcode of CF62 3BD to reach Cardiff Airport via SatNav.
By Bus: Getting to Cardiff Airport by bus from Cardiff Central is simple. The Cardiff Airport Express bus service provides a frequent, comfortable and speedy journey from Cardiff Central to Cardiff Airport. The service includes coach-style leather seating, climate control, Wi-Fi, extra luggage space and improved on-board information. Tickets cost from £5, and you can also pay in Euros - €7 one way and €10 return. Please note: This service operates up to every 20 minutes during the summer (April - October) and up to 30 minutes during winter (November-March).
Car Parking
Dropping off
Drivers dropping off passengers can access the free drop off zone. This is convenient located directly outside the terminal.
- This facility is free for up to 10 minutes.
- Vehicles must not be left unattended. Vehicles left unattended may be removed
Picking up
Drivers can pay to collect passengers from the Short Stay car park, located directly opposite the terminal. After 10 minutes, parking will be charged. A special assistance vehicle is available for passengers with reduced mobility. A designated drop-off and pick-up area is also available in Long Stay 1. The first 20 minutes are FREE. There is also a special assistance vehicle available for passengers with reduced mobility. After 20 minutes parking will be charged.
Long Stay Car Parks
There are two long star car parks located on site at Cardiff Airport, both of which are just a short walk from the terminal however, there is also a regular shuttle bus. Pre-booking your Long Stay parking in advance means you'll have access to the best deals and prices. Features and benefits:

Cardiff Airport offer a dedicated special assistance service complete with dedicated parking spaces available in both the Short and Long Stay car parks. Customers requiring assistance should press for help at our special assistance call points located in every car park located on every entry and exit barrier. A specialist team will be on hand to deal with any requirements. Ramp access is available from the Short Stay car park to the main Airport terminal.
